When blackouts, natural disasters, and power shortages strike, there’s no time left to prepare.
That’s why you need Cutting Edge Power's PowerDock, providing off-grid support to power your entire home.
Sustainability
Totally sustainable, The PowerDock has built-in solar and wind (optional) connections to keep you going as long as you need - even if you need to be off-grid forever! MPPT Solar input is standard on all models and solar input can be increased up to 9.6kW!
Right to Repair & Easy Install
Being able to repair or modify your investment is your right. The PowerDock is designed the American way: Super easy maintenance allows you to swap the inverter, charge controller(s) or batteries whenever you need to. Adding more batteries is a breeze! PowerDock’s modular design means simple part replacements and easy additions for more solar panel or battery connections. Electricians love the conduit knockouts and industry-standard terminal blocks.
Customization
Unlike most power walls, PowerDock offers a full spectrum of customizations such as battery capacity, output, solar panels, and wind turbine controls. You can even use your own batteries and solar panels. The PowerDock is perfect for homes, RV's, cabins, well pumps and any other 240V or 120V applications.
Impressive Performance
240V Split phase and up to 18kW output with no maximum battery capacity, the PowerDock is sure to impress. Depending on how you customize it, we offer up to 9.6kW of solar input and up to 5,000W of wind turbine input. Grid charging is standard on all models and will charge your batteries at up to 4,800W. Charge from the grid, solar and wind all at the same time!
Home Grown
Made right here in the USA, the PowerDock brings heavy-duty, premium quality to your home that’s ready immediately upon delivery. In turn, homeowners can count on greater power input & output, functionality, and durability than the PowerDock’s flimsy and lightweight competitors. Plus, even our batteries are made in the USA!
Whether you’re looking to stay prepared for anything or are in need of a long-term, off-grid solution, the PowerDock offers uncompromising peace of mind. Not to mention, the PowerDock ensures immediate ROI by cutting down grid spending during peak hours.
When it comes to your family’s safety and wellbeing, gas generators and cheap imported solar generators simply miss the mark. Only the PowerDock delivers the features that matter with the dependability you need.
To accommodate your customizations, the PowerDock features a 1-2 month lead time.
Order now to make this the last season your home was left unprepared.

Inverter Features
The PowerDock features a low frequency inverter. Low frequency inverters are extra heavy duty. They use powerful transformers (lots of copper!) which makes them more reliable and sturdier than the cheap high frequency inverter’s MOSFETs. MOSFETs use electronic switching and are more prone to damage, particularly at high power levels.
- Low frequency inverters last longer and are more reliable than high frequency inverters, making our solar generators ideal for use in emergency situations.
- Low frequency inverters have a higher surge output than high frequency inverters. (300% surge versus typical 200%) For example: The 4,000W PowerDock has a 12,000W surge rating.
- The surge rating of 300% is for a full 20 seconds! If you’re comparing the PowerDock to another solar generator, make sure you check how long the surge rating is. Almost all solar generators have a surge rating of about 10 milliseconds to 2 seconds.
Advanced Inverter Features
The Advanced Inverter Features are not intended for beginners or novice users. However, all it takes is a little bit of reading and some patience to become an advanced user. The following features can be accessed on all PowerDock Solar Generators. They are described in detail in the PowerDock Inverter Manual, but feel free to ask us if you have any questions.
-
Automatic transfer switch operation: This is similar to a conventional UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply) used with computers and electronics. This requires the PowerDock’s 240VAC input to be continuously connected to your home or building and your selected circuits must be powered by the PowerDock (usually via manual transfer switch). With this feature enabled, your circuits will continuously run on power from the grid until the grid goes down. Within 8 milliseconds of the grid going down, power will be transferred to the PowerDock’s inverter/battery off-grid system only. Visit PowerDock Inverter Manual section 2.5.5 for more details.
-
Gas Generator Auto-start for backup charging: (Only works with gas generators that have auto-start function). When the PowerDock’s battery voltage drops to 21.0V DC, the PowerDock will send a signal to start your gas generator. The gas generator will remain on until the batteries are fully charged. This allows you to maximize your free solar/wind power, but still have the reliability and dependability of a gas generator. The auto-start feature is completely automatic, so no more waking up in the middle of the night to start up the generator! Visit PowerDock Inverter Manual section 2.5.13 for more details.
Neutral-Ground Bonding notes:
PowerDock is set up with floating neutral as default standard from the factory.
A floating neutral should be used for backfeeding a house unless you have a switched-neutral transfer switch that switches over the hots AND THE NEUTRAL (instead of just the hots like most transfer switches).
If you are not installing PowerDock on a home or commercial building, and you're installing it on an RV, boat or other vehicle, please let us know and we will set up the PowerDock with an automatic neutral-to-ground switch. In this case the inverter uses an internal relay that automatically connects the AC neutral output to the vehicle/ship’s safety ground in inverter mode and cuts off when it is connected to an external input AC power source. This design avoids the simultaneous existence of two neutral-to-ground connections, thereby avoiding the risk of shock hazard between the vehicle/boat’s neutral and the input AC source’s neutral.
If you are not sure whether you need a floating neutral or bonded neutral, please refer to your local code requirements and the latest NEC code book.

2 Modes, (field-adjustable):
Battery Priority mode (Default):
Battery Priority is the Cutting Edge Power factory default mode. In Battery priority mode, PowerDock powers your home with the lithium batteries as they're being charged by solar/wind. Ideally, the solar/wind charging would maintain the batteries at 100% throughout the day and excess power would be distributed to your devices. Then the batteries would power your home at night. In this mode, if the battery charge drops to 5%, PowerDock will charge the battery to 80% with the 240V grid connection. Charging speed depends on the inverter selected as well as the size of the battery capacity.
Grid priority mode:
Grid priority should only be used if you choose to not use solar or wind power. In Grid priority mode, when the grid is present the battery will be maintained at 80%, and the inverter will power your home directly with 240V grid power. If the grid connection is lost, PowerDock will power your home with the batteries. In this mode, PowerDock will cycle the battery once every 15 days just to make sure everything is working fine. (You shouldn't notice this test).
Combining these advanced features equips your home or business with the most cutting-edge backup power system available on the market. The system takes advantage of the best of both worlds; free and reliable solar/wind power as primary, but still the option of falling back on grid power or traditional gas generator power. These advanced features (along with PowerDock's other features) will provide a fully automatic backup system that you will never have to think about!
