Solar USB adapter works well
As I stated in a previous review, this device works well. It has been charging a number of my USB devices during our long, cold Vermont winter. I have attached it to both of my 12v 100 watt solar panels and it works well with either one of them. I like how it connects directly to the MC4 adapters on my solar panels. I like the mini USB light that comes with it. This light turns on rather brightly to show that power is coming from my solar panel to the USB adapter. I have the adapter with 4 USB ports. Nice product that has held up well so far.
Works Well -solar panel USB adapter
Hi, I received one of these solar panel USB adapters for Christmas. Despite a fairly long and not always bright. sunny Vermont winter, I have used this product a number of times. I have connected this to one of my 100 watt solar panel in order to charge my cell phone, Fire Tablets, and other smaller usb devices. This product has worked well so far. On less than bright sunny days, it charges my phone... a bit slowly..but charges it. On a bright sunny day, it charges my devices must faster. I like the small LED mini usb light that comes with the adapter. It lights up and indicates that the device is receiving power from my panel. The adapter connects easily to the standard MC4 connectors on my solar panel. Overall, I am happy with this adapter. Time will tell how the adapter holds up for the long term.
Product solved my needs
I had a solar panel with a controller without a USB port. It did not work with the controller so I patched a wired SAE I had and this worked like a charm(see attached photos. As per other reviews the usb set are not firmly attached. Mine came loose after the first attachment. Also an on/off switch would be handy as well as an SAE adapter.
